Five Rules for Mulch

Mulch is a valuable asset to the garden. To benefit from its positive attributes it must be well maintained and used properly. Here are our rules. 

A lushly planted garden doesn't need a lot of mulch. In time, this garden may require very little, if any, mulch as perennials grow. Empty spots are planted with annuals.
